New Role: Eddie cast as Newt Scamander in “Fantastic Beasts”

1Great news! After several weeks of rumours, Warner Bros. Pictures have announced that Eddie has officially been cast as the lead character in the much-anticipated J.K. Rowling’s wizarding world adventure “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them”.

Eddie will play the role of Newt Scamander, the Wizarding World’s preeminent magizoologist, who in his travels has encountered and documented a myriad of magical creatures, ultimately leading to his penning the Hogwarts School textbook Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

Here’s Greg Silverman, President of Creative Development and Worldwide Production for Warner Bros. Pictures had to say about the casting in the official announcement:

Eddie Redmayne has emerged as one of today’s most extraordinarily talented and acclaimed actors. We are thrilled to welcome him into J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World, where we know he will deliver a remarkable performance as Newt Scamander

The film will be directed by David Yates and will be released in 3D and IMAX on November 28th, 2016!
