I just watched The Danish Girl and my review of the film is this: the story was very powerful because I felt I was there going into the unknown world of Lily, it has purity, innocence and and elegance about it. Yet towards the end I had cried not just for the sadness but the happiness of the time Lily had spent as a woman, if that makes sense.
