In the early summer of 1956, 23 year-old Colin Clark, just down from Oxford and determined to make his way in the film business, worked as a lowly assistant on the set of "The Prince and The Showgirl", the film that united Sir Laurence Olivier with Marilyn Monroe.

First of all, I’d like to wish all of our visitors and contributors all the best in the new year! Thanks a lot for visiting the site. More information on the movie adaptation of “Les Misérables”, in which Eddie will star in, has surfaced:
The actors Tom Hooper hired for his planned adaptation of the Broadway smash Les Miserables are being told they’ll have to sing their songs live on camera.
A source close to the production has told the Sun UK that, in order to attain the most authentic feel possible, the Oscar-winning King’s Speech director is requiring his cast to record their vocal live on camera during their scenes. Usually, cast members pre-record their vocal tracks in a studio, then lip-synch to the mixed and mastered songs while filming their scenes.
Show pictures of Eddie in “Richard II” have been added to the gallery as well as the scans of an interview for Metro (a very nice read, totally recommended!) thanks to the lovely Lorna again. Enjoy!
The first pictures of the “Richard II” rehearsals have surfaced!
Remember ‘Richard II’ opens on December 6th at the Donmar Warehouse in London. Here‘s a very interesting interview of Eddie talking about this particular project.
‘Kenneth Branagh, who plays Laurence Olivier, says in Marilyn at one point: “Welcome to the circus,” and it does feel like that at times. It’s easy to get caught up in the bulls***. But there’s that amazing line in Richard II that I get to say every night: “Nor I nor any man that but man is/ With nothing shall be pleased, till he be eased/With being nothing.” And it gives me back perspective.’ Source
A new still of Eddie as Colin Clark in “My Week with Marilyn” has surfaced. The film is set to premiere at the New York Film Festival this weekend and will hit theatres on November 5th. Take a look!
In other news, according to broadway.com the full cast has been announced for the Donmar Warehouse’s production of Shakespeare’s Richard II in which Eddie stars.
In Shakespeare’s epic tale of destruction, ruin and decay, King Richard banishes his noblemen and seizes their land to fuel his own wars. As anger mounts, a battle for the soul of England begins and one man’s divine right to rule is called into question.
As I mentioned in the last update, we got some pretty neat stuff to add to the site in the next few days/weeks. Today’s update has to do with Eddie’s portrayal of John Jr in the theatre production “Now or Later” which ran in the Royal Court theatre in London from September 3rd until October 18th in 2008.
Here’s the synopsis to perhaps refresh our minds!
On the eve of a US election, the gay son of the Democratic presidential candidate goes to a party dressed as Muhammad. His dad’s supporters think he should apologise before video material becomes public. The boy argues he was acting in the interests of free speech, to expose a fellow student who wanted to censor satire directed at Islam. But he’s also rebelling because of his family history: even his birth, he claims, was a media-sensitive decision by his parents.
I have added quite a handful of pictures of Eddie during the press photocall. Enjoy!
