In the early summer of 1956, 23 year-old Colin Clark, just down from Oxford and determined to make his way in the film business, worked as a lowly assistant on the set of "The Prince and The Showgirl", the film that united Sir Laurence Olivier with Marilyn Monroe.

Eddie has attended today the cast photocall for “RED” on Broadway!
Tickets are now available for the Broadway premiere of John Logan’s Red. The dramatic two-hander, directed by Michael Grandage, stars Alfred Molina and Eddie Redmayne. Direct from its critically acclaimed run at London’s Donmar Warehouse, the Broadway production begins performances at the Golden Theatre on March 11 and opens on April 1, 2010.
Producers of the well-reviewed London play “Red” have confirmed a spring Broadway bow, with the legiter opening at the Golden Theater in April for a 15-week run.
Thesps Alfred Molina and Eddie Redmayne reprise their roles in the Donmar Warehouse production helmed by Donmar a.d. Michael Grandage.
Two-hander about painter Mark Rothko will rep the Main Stem debut of playwright John Logan, whose screenwriting credits including “Gladiator,” “The Aviator” and “Sweeney Todd.”
For the Broadway incarnation of “Red,” more than 60 tickets per perf will be sold for $25 each in a nod to the Donmar’s mission to increase the accessibility of theater.
“Red” will be the second Donmar production this season imported to the Rialto by Arielle Tepper Madover, the producer who has a first-look deal with the London troupe. In the fall her transfer of the Donmar’s Jude Law topliner “Hamlet” (also directed by Grandage) logged strong sales and recouped in about six weeks.
She’s also produced Rialto runs of Donmar productions “Mary Stuart” and “Frost/Nixon.”
“Red” centers on a 1958 commission for Rothko (Molina) to create murals for a Park Avenue hotel. Redmayne appears as Rothko’s assistant.
Christopher Oram designs the production, with lights by Neil Austin and music and sound design by Adam Cork.
“Red,” which plays at the Donmar through Feb. 6, begins previews March 11 ahead of an April 1 opening.
