Eddie is a very busy man these days. I have updated the gallery with pictures from the latest events he’s attended including the Luncheon for The Academy Awards Nominees that took place on Monday and the “Jupiter Ascending” premiere in Hollywood. The film is out in cinemas tomorrow! It has also been confirmed Eddie will be attending the BAFTAs which are taking place at the Royal Opera House in London this Sunday. We will keep you updated, so keep checking back!
Eddie sat down with Yahoo’s Global News Anchor, Katie Couric to talk about his Oscar nomination for his role of Stephen Hawking in “The Theory of Everything“, how he trained with a dancer and had to shed his six-pack for the role and also about the “Redmanyiacs” in a very relaxed and sweet interview that you can watch below or read the whole article on Yahoo’s website. Enjoy!
When Couric asks him about his fan club, the self-proclaimed “Redmayniacs,” he blushes and explains that “from my experience, they are quite gentle and kind.”
Eddie and Felicity received the Cinema Vanguard award for “The Theory of Everything” at the Arlington Theater in Los Angeles as part of the 30th Santa Barbara International Film Festival. Check out the pictures from the gala and the Q&A Session in our gallery.
With the release of “Jupiter Ascending” less than a week away, Warner Bros have released new film stills and promotional pictures from the film. Starring alongside Channing Tatum and Mila Kunis, Eddie plays the villain Balem. Check out the pictures in the gallery and watch the Inside the Universe featurette below to hear Eddie talking about the project.
Congratulations are in order for Eddie as he won the Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role Award at the 21st Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards for his portrayal of astrophysicist Stephen Hawking in “The Theory of Everything“!
Eddie looked genuinely surprised and in awe when he received the award that he dedicated to people suffering with ALS in a beautiful and touching acceptance speech that you can watch below:
“I would like to dedicate this award, this very wonderful skinny man, to those people around the world living with ALS; to those who have lost their lives to this brutal disease. In preparing to play Stephen, I met many people fighting ALS and I met their families fighting alongside them. And the courage and the bravery and this triumph of spirit that I witnessed blew my mind. So I am incredibly grateful to them.”
Eddie is a patron of the Motor Neurone Disease Association in the UK which funds and promotes research to understand what causes MND (ALS and MND are different descriptions of the same disease), how to diagnose it and, most importantly, how to effectively treat it so that it no longer devastates lives. Make sure to visit their website to learn more about the disease and the work MNDA do.
Eddie’s already made an appearance in the 21st Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards red carpet which are taking place tonight at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. He is looking as dapper as usual in a tuxedo. Eddie is nominated for the Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role award for his role as Stephen Hawking in “The Theory of Everything”. Wishing him the best luck tonight! I’ve added the first batch of pictures to the gallery but will be adding more later on as the night progresses.
Eddie attended the Producers Guild of America Awards at Hyatt Regency Century Plaza in Los Angeles last night where “The Theory of Everything” was nominated for Outstanding Producer of Theatrical Motion Pictures but lost it to Iñarritu’s “Birdman“. Check out the pictures of Eddie in our gallery!
